Welcome to FDA-Blog.com, a website launched and operated by former US Food and Drug Administration staff, who along with some current staff, believe FDA has put public health at avoidable risk. We believe the risk is unnecessary because flawed processes at the US FDA can be fixed. However, some corrections proposed by US FDA upper management (for instance, in the Values and Vision program) seem unlikely solutions.
Here, we invite all interested parties, especially consumers most affected by FDA actions or inactions, to post their views and comments. We’re focused on current efforts within and outside of the US FDA to protect all of us and our pets from harmful products – foods, drugs and other medical products--before they get on the market.
Among attempts to “fix” what’s wrong at FDA is the Commissioner’s Values and Vision effort – supposedly aimed at correcting what we believe is now a deeply flawed new drug review process. What do you think? Will the effort really yield needed changes, or is it shallow action and misleading rhetoric? Join the discussion here, or voice your opinions in a Letter to Commissioner located at Thoreau-FDA.com
Through the combined efforts of Thoreau-FDA.com and FDA-blog.com we hope to help the US FDA Commissioner and FDA upper managers ensure that the US FDA fulfills it mission of public health promotion and protection.
